Being of Some Help

My husband is a co-founder of an early-stage startup. As he focuses on development and the product, his knowledge of marketing is likely limited. Like most early startups, each team member juggles at least two or three roles. My husband, for instance, is a developer, a product owner, handles external pitching, and even takes on customer support (CS) tasks from time to time.

His company has recently started dabbling in marketing, but the team member responsible for it seems to be struggling. I met with him directly to talk things over. It appeared he was overwhelmed, taking on too many tasks alone. Seeing them like that reminded me of myself at my previous company, and it tugged at my heartstrings.

After some thought, I believe these three questions are the most critical for our company right now:

  1. What are the core problems our company is facing?
  2. What are we aiming to achieve through these actions?
  3. What should be our top priority?

Ultimately, with limited manpower and plenty of strong competitors around, it’s crucial to clearly identify the challenges “our” company is facing and decide what actions we need to take to address them. This is directly tied to setting priorities effectively.

During my break, I want to do my part to help this team, even if just a little.

Actually, Wendy is (un)free!
